Why would a preamp use LDRs for volume control instead of a potentiometer or a stepped attenuator?
Why would a preamp use LDRs for volume control instead of a potentiometer or a stepped attenuator?
We're convinced LDRs sound better than any potentiometer, conventional stepped attenuator, or most transformer-based volume controls. Since we started in 2012, almost all of our customers chose to keep their LDR preamp after the 30-day in-home audition window closed, when they could have returned it for a full refund. We believe that speaks louder than any test data.
